Hallelujah

The piece started with the words “hallelujah” that was bursting out of my heart at the time. It has sheet music from the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah, along with scripture from Psalm 135, layers of patterns, including lines and texture from painted leaves. The bottom left corner is spring, top left is summer, top right is autumn, and bottom right is winter. There’s a precious lamb that is the focus regardless of season and there is a literal “hallelujah” in every season.

It was almost like my heart was being prepared with this piece to remember to lift a hallelujah in every season…not knowing how that would be challenged when my world was turned upside down after Hurricane Helene.
