About Amber Leilani

Amber Leilani has been a lifelong creative, with early artistic achievements that eventually led her to earn a minor in Art from Charleston Southern University. She later taught high school art and has continued to lead children’s and adult classes throughout the years. Today, Amber is a member of the Swannanoa Valley Fine Arts League, with work currently featured at The Red House Gallery in Black Mountain, NC.

Working primarily in acrylics, Amber often incorporates collage and layered paper into her paintings. Her creative process is deeply meaningful—she paints slowly and intentionally, inviting God into the details and spending time in prayer as she works. The layered nature of her art reflects themes of hiddenness, mystery, and quiet revelation. Viewers often describe her work as peaceful, uplifting, and joy-filled.

Born in Hawaii, Amber spent much of her childhood in the Cayman Islands and Florida before her family returned to South Carolina in 1992. She has called the Carolinas home for more than 30 years.

Those who know Amber describe her as peaceful, positive, and genuinely encouraging. Her love for people is woven into her work, and her art carries the warmth of her spirit to those who experience it.
