This piece started with inspiration from Psalm 1 and the leaf that does not wither, so the first layer is the scripture.  The way the leaves are painted allow for the additional layers of beauty, fruit, scripture, and songs (including sheet music from The Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah) to be seen within them. The small-but-mighty hummingbirds symbolize joy as they dance together among the leaves.  It is meaningful and intentional how the hummingbirds are not obvious at first glance. 

This piece is a reminder that no matter the season or circumstances, we can still prosper and find joy.
